Here are 6 of the many uses of baking soda for cleaning.

1. Clean and Unclog Sink

This is perhaps one of the most popular uses of baking soda. Baking soda and vinegar can form a strong agent that can soften the particles that clog your sink. Just pour the mixture into the sink and wait 10 minutes before you pour the boiling water to unclog it.

2. Remove Stains and Marks

Baking soda is a whitening agent, which is why it is effective in removing stains and marks. Whether the stains are on the wall, floor, coffee mug, or even your teeth, baking soda can help!

Just mix it with water and that’s it.

3. Polish Silver Kitchen Utensils

You don’t have to buy a polisher to bring back the shine of your silver kitchen utensils. Polishers that you can buy from the market sometimes contain harmful ingredients, and that’s not safe.

Baking soda, in fact, is used for cooking and baking, so it won’t kill you even if you eat it as is. Having said that, it can be a great product for polishing objects that we use for eating (i.e., silverware).

4. Whiten Clothes

It has been said earlier that baking soda has the capability to whiten because it can remove stains and dirt, but that is not limited to hard surfaces. Baking soda can also help you whiten your clothes!

The next time you shop for detergents, read through the ingredients list and you’ll most likely find there “sodium bicarbonate,” which is the chemical name of baking soda.

Baking soda is safe for clothes. In fact, it can even help them to be a bit softer.

5. Clean Bathroom

There are lots of bathroom cleaners out there that are really effective, but almost all of them leave a strong smell. The good thing, though, is you don’t have to deal with it every single time!

Replace your bathroom cleaner with baking soda and you will not have to leave your bathroom with irritated nose!

Baking soda doesn’t have smell. What’s more, it’s a great deodorizer!

6. Eliminate Bad Body Odor

Speaking of deodorizer, you can also use baking soda for yourself, to avoid having body odor that pushes people away from you.

Sweat doesn’t actually have smell, but if it’s mixed with bacteria, it becomes smelly because it makes your sweat acidic!

Baking soda can stop that from happening, so if you don’t like using store-bought deodorants because of their chemical content, try using baking soda.
